ISSC
ISSC is located in Ried, Austria. The company’s design and engineering work is accomplished at the company’s ESC subsidiary, located in Ulm, Germany. ESC, which stands for Engineering, Sourcing and Consulting, is a fresh approach to firearm manufacture, in that this company aggregates all new manufacturing technologies, applies them to small-arms manufacture and then brings these new technologies to other countries either through product distribution or consulting activities.
They are working as wholesaler, importer and distributor in Austria. Additionally, they are dealing with a variety of hunting and sporting products. Their best known suppliers are Baikal, Crosman, German Sport Guns, Savage, Mossberg and Heckler&Koch.
ISSC production: 2009 they started to produce their own firearms. First they launched with a pistol called ISSC M22 in caliber 22lr which they have been offering in numerous of different versions since then. Their second product, developed in 2010 is a rifle called MK22 in caliber 22lr. Currently they are working on a straight pull action (SPA) rifle which will be available in the calibers .22 lr, .22 WMR and .17 HMR. Sale will start in spring 2014.
ISSC-Austria has brought forth a new and unique training pistol chambered in 22LR. Unique in that it clearly resembles and feels like the modern self-defense or law enforcement polymer pistols. At first blush the resemblance is definitely like that of a Glock 19 pistol. It is said, that the ISSC M22b pistol resembled the Glock so much that Glock filed a trademark infringement lawsuit because the pistol looked too much like a Glock. I have not been able to verify that story. The sights are plastic, just like the Glock, the front sight is held in place by two ‘dog-ears’ on the plastic tabs, and the rear sight is windage adjustable, just like the Glock Optional Adjustable Sight.
